Outside Sales Representative    Seattle, WA and Atlanta, GA
Outside Sales Representative

This position contributes to the success of Solatube by promoting and managing the sale of our products within a designated geographic territory.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

  • Promotes and manages sales within  designated territory to increase Company  sales.
  • Develops sales plan for assigned territory.
  • Calls on dealers, distributors, building material distributors, and contractors.
  • Demonstrates products effectively to customers, installers, and prospects.  
  • Provides product knowledge and assistance to dealers and customers regarding installation information and operation of product.
  • Trains dealers and installers in proper use of products.
  • Inspects customer inventory levels and assist with reordering.
  • Works with customers regarding store displays and advertising.
  • Organizes sales campaigns including prospecting for new accounts and servicing existing accounts.
  • Calculates and quotes prices, closes transactions, and takes orders.
  • Surveys market and prospects including comparative information on competitive products and pricing.
  • Manages time for maximum productivity.  Prepares efficient itineraries to maximize Company travel time and to contain costs.
  • Represents Company and products at trade shows.
    Maintains records of sales to facilitate analysis of sales efforts.
  • Meets sales quotas for territory.

Qualifications

  • A Four (4) Year college degree
  • Experience selling Daylighting or lighting products
  • Experience selling intangible products, ideas and concepts that are new to retailers, builders and architects.
  • Refined verbal and 'active' listening skills that must involve questioning techniques.
  • Advanced lead development skills.
  • Ability to develop solid relationships with multiple clients.
  • An understanding of basic lighting principles, building techniques and processes.
  • Has a track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals.
  • Experience selling products and services to major accounts in a designated region.
  •  Is self-assured and confident in a variety of settings. Has a strong belief in own capabilities.
  • Up to 75% overnight travel required.
