Design AssistanceProduction Selection GuideShowcase

The SolaMaster Series is a versatile line of tubular daylighting devices that captures natural light at the rooftop and transfers it into building interiors where daylighting has rarely been possible. These systems feature patented optical technologies that deliver highly predictable light levels, allowing them to be used in commercial daylighting design applications similar to traditional lighting equipment. A wide variety of options allows the potential to design the ideal daylighting system for any space.

Architectural and environmental integration

Commercial daylighting has many advantages, but it also poses some challenges. Shifting light patterns, solar heat gain, and glare are all concerns when it comes to using the sun’s rays for natural lighting. As a company, we set out to overcome these challenges by developing innovative commercial daylighting systems that not only meet architectural and environmental objectives but also provide predictable light output, design flexibility, and peace of mind. Read below to learn more.

Optical controllability

The SolaMaster Series selectively redirects, reflects and delivers the visible spectrum of daylight to interior spaces. At the same time, it filters out infrared wavelengths to reduce  daytime cooling loads. It also prevents harmful ultraviolet light from entering the building, which can damage interiors and fade furniture and fabrics. In addition, the design reduces glare and minimizes shifting patterns of light for a consistent light distribution pattern. Whether your application requires controlled, consistent light output or maximum light output throughout the day, The SolaMaster Series offers options to meet your specific commercial lighting needs.

Superior transmission

Along with delivering the highest quality daylight possible, Solatube Daylighting Systems produce minimal color / spectral shift of light. Known as high Color Temperature Maintenance (CTM), this characteristic ensures consistent color temperature in the daylight delivered through the system and stable color rendition of interior surfaces across the visible light spectrum over the course of the year. Our systems also boast unrivaled Light Transfer Efficiency (LTE). This means they minimize seasonal variations and deliver maximum light throughput for greater output and enhanced multi-story daylight delivery. In short, Solatube Daylighting Systems are the pinnacle of light output, color consistency and quality of light delivery.

Extraordinary adaptability

A building’s use can change over its lifetime.
That’s why the SolaMaster Series is designed
for adaptability. When a building is reconfigured
or modified, our systems can change along with
it. The versatility of the SolaMaster Series makes it
easy to accommodate either a closed or open ceiling
configuration. Or, if a renovation demands it, the tubing
or diffusers can be easily rerouted to a new location. With
such extraordinary adaptability, Solatube Daylighting Systems
can be adjusted to conform to your building needs now as well
as those in the future.

Performance predictability

When using sunlight for commercial lighting design applications, you want your daylighting solution to perform as planned. Solatube Daylighting Systems feature patented optical technologies that deliver extremely predictable daylighting, hour by hour and season by season.  Whether your goal is to maximize midday light or provide a consistent light level throughout the day and year, it's just a matter of selecting the right product configuration. A Solatube Daylighting Expert can even provide you with IES Photometry and tools to assist you in your design process. Whatever your building type or need, we have the tools that let you customize your solution to achieve your aesthetic goals.

Affordable sustainability

Solatube products are engineered to reduce environmental impact while providing energy-efficient lighting that nurtures building occupants. By utilizing sustainable natural daylight, our systems eliminate the need for electric lights during the day as well as the utility needed to generate that power. This minimizes a building’s carbon footprint by reducing environmental CO2 emissions.

From a financial perspective, Solatube
Daylighting Systems make sense
because they are cost-effective and
reduce maintenance costs associated
with electric lighting. In fact, they
often have lower installation costs than
other fenestration products. The end
result is high-performance, eco-friendly
commercial lighting at a price that fits
your budget.

Engineered reliability

We engineer our tubular daylighting devices for reliability with leakproof flashings and curb caps, self-cleaning domes and UV / IR screening. The result is a commercial daylighting solution that withstands inclement weather, requires little to no maintenance, and delivers bright, beautiful daylight to occupants for years to come, giving you ultimate peace of mind.

Effortless attainability

Getting a Solatube Daylighting System is effortless because we have distributors all around the globe that are factory trained in all aspects of the product, from initial design through final installation. You can find a Solatube Daylighting Expert
in your area using the “locator” tool at
the top or bottom of this page.

Occupant productivity

When sunlight is allowed to enter a building through Solatube Daylighting Systems, the people occupying it tend to be happier, healthier and more productive. Research has shown that daylighting improves productivity, increases employee retention, reduces absenteeism, and improves student test scores. We believe everyone deserves to experience the benefits that bright, beautiful natural lighting has to offer. The sustainable lighting design of our commercial daylighting products enhances occupants’ functionality so they can work and live at the highest levels.
